We had a neighbor when docked in Antigua & Barbuda.
Morning Java
We enjoyed breakfast in our usual spot at the back of the boat.
New Neighbor
A Norwegian cruise was coming in to join us.
Right Here
Here's a good spot. We spoke to some people on the boat - 5700 of them, always a line and very "boxy".
Sightseeing
We had some time in the morning and left to explore.
Be Back
We be back Ms. Valiant.
Party Atmosphere
We were greeted by one heck of a street party.
Crowds
Good thing we didn't want to shop.
Museum
We headed to the museum to learn about the island's (slave) history. European nations used slaves to grow sugar cane (and make rum) in the Caribbean.
1775
Likely someone here in 1775 when they arrived.
Lone One
Nice flowering lily decorating the museum.
Heading Back
Appears others have had enough as well.
Our Spot
We parked for a cold one before heading back to the boat.
Zone 4 Please
Nothing to declare.
The Queue
We changed and headed back join for our catamaran beach trip.
We're Off
The bar we visited earlier is to the left of the free wi-fi sign.
The Needle
The Captain threaded the cruise ship needle on our way out.
Who's Bigger?
The Viva supports over DOUBLE the passengers on the Lady!
Outbound
We were surprised to learn we'd be going snorkeling!!
Excited
Doesn't appear Andrew is very excited about the opportunity (just don't drink the rum punch).
Glowing
Thought this would make a good photo - what do you think?
We're In
There were LOTS of fish in the water as we entered.
This Way
We swam out to a shallower reef.
Return Trip
The reef appeared to be suffering.
All Aboard
Lining up in the water to board the boat.
Patience
Snapped a selfie while waiting.
Beach Bound
We headed back toward the port and rounded the point on the other side of the harbor to discover....
Our Destination
.... our beach for the afternoon.
Inbound
Our path to the beach.
Resting Spot
Appears others like this spot as well.
Been Here
Andrew discovered his friend stayed in these above water cabins on his honeymoon.
Beached
The Captain pulled her right up on the beach.
Not Alone
Appears this is THE place to take catamaran tourists.
Another Fort
We didn't hike to see the fort.
Tough Afternoon
Agree, REALLY tough way to spend an afternoon.
Stroll
We took a walk down to see the cabins.
Lagging
How'd I end up so far ahead?
Refreshing
Andrew enjoys a cold one while cooling off.
Our Spot
We'll take this spot, PLEASE!
Sure Thing
Didn't realize we were getting photo bombed.
Big Picture
REALLY rough way to spend an afternoon.
Let's Go
Time to load back onto the boat.
We're Back
THANK YOU for a good, safe excursion.
Warm-Up
We stopped for a snack before returning to the boat and enjoyed the street performers warm-up.
Day at Sea
Our last day on the Lady was at sea, returning to San Juan.
Usual
Why change what's working?
What's Next?
Andrew contemplates activities for the day.
Pool Day
We spent the day at the pool (only one of the Lady).
Cat's Meow
After dinner, Andrew headed back to the room early. I went to the dance party event but didn't stay long.
San Juan Rise
Morning in San Juan, PR.
Welcome Back
The San Sebastián Street Festival was starting in a few hours.
Champions
Our final breakfast of champions on the Valiant Lady.
See Ya
Heading down to 6 to disembark.
Stairs?
Heck no, unlike our arrival, we're responsible for getting our luggage off the boat.
Yes, Please
We'll take the elevator. Virgin scheduled our departure to manage the crowds.
Look Familiar?
I left Andrew at the port to mail my post cards and we were off to the airport. After a few hours in the terminal we left San Juan for Miami.
Welcome to Miami
My bag arrived in Miami without a lock OR zippers! Spirit abdicated their responsibility, which made travel home interesting.
Night Life
We enjoyed dinner w/ Andrew's girl friend Rachel.
Shared Photos
I copied my photos to a USB stick for Andrew and provided commentary for Rachel before bed.
I'm Back
I took a car to the airport in the morning, got my bag wrapped and made it home without additional incident to me or my luggage. FABULOUS trip Andrew, thank you for your patience in getting it completed 9 years after your 16th!
